I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how Opal is doing. She's settling in nicely... although my cat, Lady, isn't too sure what to make of her yet. They're at the point where they can be in the same room together so long as Opal keeps her distance. 
 
Opal is making friends with everyone (i.e., human) who shows up here - even my mother, who admittedly doesn't like cats. She's been called a "furry piglet" by one co-worker who saw the attached picture, and everyone marvels at her size. But the one comment we hear over and over is "what a beautiful cat!", and she is. She's warm and affectionate, loves to cuddle and even gives (what I call) "kitten hugs" by jumping into your lap, putting her paws on your shoulders and nuzzling your face. 
 
Thank you for bringing us to Opal. And thank you for being there for the furry people who need you.
