I hope that everything is going well for you and FOLAS. I started thinking of the rescue group last tonight after reading about shelters that "euthanize" healthy cats and dogs because of lack of space and ability to take care of them. I knew that not all shelters have a no-kill policy like FOLAS, but I had no idea that it was so prevalent. It made me so sad when I realized that Cleo, who was with FOLAS for a year before I adopted her, would not have survived nearly that long in one of those places, and it made me remember once again how grateful I am for everyone there who took care of her until we found each other. And now we have found another family member to add! I am getting married in January, and Cleo and I will be moving to Philadelphia with my fiance next month. She loves him and plays fetch with him all the time, but since I know that she was abandoned before and will now be leaving half of the family she has lived with for two years (I currently still live with my father and brother), I was hoping that someone could give me some advice on how to make it less traumatic. I know that it will take a few weeks for her to settle in to the new place, but don't want her to think that she is being abandoned again. Finally, Jeff and I have decided that we are going to make a supply donation to FOLAS with some of the monetary gift that we receive at the wedding. Is the wishlist on the site still up to date, and since it will be winter would you have any special needs? Otherwise, we'd be happy to bring over cases of canned cat and dog food and cat litter.
